General Summary

Between sessions

  • See Dreams in Great Forks
  • Scene: Great Forks > Breakfast at Dreamflower’s family home

  • Stelsor Bladed Tornado had a shocking dream with 4 deathlords in it that shook him pretty hard, so, to settle himself, he snuck into his friend's family's home to make breakfast.
  • Dreamflower’s family (the Carpenters) mention that it is not uncommon for people to have unusually vivid dreams during their visits to Great Forks. The goddess Dreamweaver likes to communicate that way.
  • Dreamflower (birth name Sophia Carpenter) had a violent dream with Tidetamer in it. They were attacked by an undead siaka.
  • Elsewhere, Fortifier of Hearts & Bones had a dream about flying alongside Cinshan when they’re attacked by a blightworm. Another dream featured Sees-your-soul hearing from 2 goddesses complaining about regulations on their temples.
  • Scene: Great Forks > Fortifier at the Thearch tower

  • Fortifier finds Sees-your-soul writing furiously.
  • Fortifier asks about the odd dream that Sees-your-soul was in.
  • Sees-your-soul is surprised how specific the dream was. He had spoken yesterday with the goddesses in Fortifier’s dream.
  • Fortifier detects Sees-your-soul has a minor Intimacy toward Life of Kittens (irritated fondness) and one toward Pale Carnation of Passion (unexpected infatuation).
  • Sees-your-soul has some paperwork to finish and then a formal ritual to receive the giant cog.
  • Fortifier leaves to go rejoin the group back at the Great Crane Transport office.
  • Fortifier encounters Mead's Kiss.
  • Asks her about Raksha presences in the city.
  • She just knows that there are a few.
  • Fortifier asks her to prepare a report while we’re gone.
  • The watchman we met with to investigate the murders was Zi-Jhan, member of the law-cult of Ji-Zhen.
  • Fortifier follows the instructions left to find everyone else at the Carpenter house.
  • Scene: Great Forks > Carpenter residence

  • Stelsor wants to have Sublime Twilight blessed by a deity of health.
  • Dreamflower is concerned that our actions may bring too much attention to her family. She left Great Forks initially to help keep the family from being harmed to get to her.
  • She summons an air elemental to watch and report and an earth elemental to physically protect them while we’re gone in another world.
  • Dreamflower’s father worries this might be an unnecessary escalation since they’ve not had issues before.
  • Dreamflower explains she deals with creatures that he probably can’t withstand.
  • Dreamflower leaves one of her reading pamphlets for him.
  • Dreamflower finds out that the Rakshian twins are the local Guild demi-factors
  • They weren’t well liked, and rumors are getting around that something awful happened to them.
  • Dreamflower also makes a protective talisman for her family.
  • Scene: Great Forks > Streets of Little Yu-Shan

  • Stelsor and Fortifier see a bunch of people in the streets who are agitating for the proletariat to seize the means of production.
  • Dreamflower notices that there are a number of people in the back who are high on Black Sunshine.
  • The main speaker in the crowd appears to be a Guildsman.
  • Dreamflower dons the Guild-person mask made by Nurlissa, Chosen of Masks, before we infiltrated the Guild base in Nexus.
  • The Guildsman mentions at one point that they used to have raksha dream-eat slaves to make them compliant, but more recently they’ve been using black sunshine. Such addicted slaves don’t last as long, but have more
  • The Guildsman is excited that something happened to the Rakshians, looks forward to their holdings and territories up for grabs.
  • Dreamflower relays the news to the group.
  • Fortifier wonders if the Rakshian twins were attacked because the Guild using black sunshine led to them bringing fewer slaves for the raksha to dream-eat.
  • Dreamflower refocuses Bureau Breaking Method to focus on the black sunshine distribution network.
  • Scene: Great Forks > Little Yu-Shan > Great Maker’s Clock

  • This is the main temple to Autochthon in the city.
  • We are greeted by Hustin and Giustin who help us get properly attired.
  • Fortifier supplies a small sample of Sublime Twilight so we can request Autochthon’s blessing upon it.
  • During the ceremony, when the congregants begin to affix the giant cog, Fortifier notices the nails seem inadequate to hold it.
  • Fortifier begins singing a Autochthonian work-hymn to help them. (Morale Building Declaration)
  • Dreamflower helps reinforce the materials (Durability-Enhancing Procedure)
  • Outside, after the ceremony, Fortifier notices what he thinks is the temple to the cat goddess he saw in his dream. Dreamflower is interested and comes along to visit it.
  • Turns out Fortifier was embarrassingly mistaken: the salacious temple is to the fertility deity Pale Carnation of Passion.
  • Pale Carnation sensed that they could help Stelsor when he has time (probably when we get back from Autochthonia).
  • Scene: Traveling to and through Autochthonia

  • Stelsor is exuberant about finding some lumpen (Autochthonia’s branded criminals).
  • Sees-your-soul nearly has a Clarity break at the mention of this. Fortifier manages to talk the Alchemical down, explaining we hope to relocate some to Creation where they might have a better life and won’t disrupt Autochthon’s god-body.
  • Dreamflower identifies some mine tailings (loose waste rock) on the surface and navigates us closer.
  • Scene: Autochthonia > setting down

  • Fortifier detects active digging far below them.
  • Stelsor turns into a landshark and digs through the loose rock. (Devil-Body Incarnation)
  • Part way down, there’s a layer of some kind of fabric.
  • We’re able to cut through it and repair the cut afterward.
  • Cutting the fabric seems like it alerted the people below and we notice a drop of 7 stories.
  • After deliberating on how to get down and who to send, Fortifier conjures Unbreakable Bones of Stone and falls to the bottom unharmed.
  • They speak an isolated dialect of Old Realm, but Fortifier is able to adapt accordingly and translate for the others. (Strange Tongue Understanding)
  • Their term for Alchemicals carries harsh connotations of overseers and taskmasters.
  • They become especially worried when they see Sees-your-soul is with us.
  • Fortifier asks them about what they are digging for.
  • They have found selenite ore, which may contain Moonsilver.
  • Stelsor changes out of his monstrous form and wants to offer them food.
  • We distribute some modified slurry to them.
  • There are probably 60-80 lumpen working in this part of the cavern.
  • We notice that many of these are lumpen have some kind of physical deformity and rock has then adhered or replaced the body part.
  • Suspecting these physical differences may have been “improvements” done by dispassionate machine spirits, Fortifier examines some of them more closely and finds these seem to have more in common with the Blight.
