Dercian Earl's Revolt

Military action

The earls of Dercia revolt against their king, Saelric I. King Aulfred of Utferd-Wexeter invades under the pretense of suppressing the revolt, executing captured lords and replacing them with nobles loyal to him. He returns his conquered land to Saelric upon the end of the war, though he retains tremendous influence over the new earls.
