Make Stuff Up, Goddamn It!

The system of C&D is very flexible and you can (and should) discuss your own rolls and rules whenever needed. Be sure to discuss these with the group as a whole so that everyone is on the same page with the new or modified rules.
  For example, if you need to know if an avatar makes that 400 hundred meter run from the colony’s airlock to the ship in the poisonous atmo before his breather runs out, the AI could propose to have him make an Athletics + Cool roll with a -1 modifier for the stress, needing two successes in order to succeed. A scientific experiment or archaeological excavation that is initially stated as taking a month to complete could be decided that certain abilities, items, or info, would allow to roll for reductions on the time, with each success reducing the time by five days. As you see, it’s fairly easy. Don’t be afraid to expand the system. It’s meant to be adapted and changed according to the needs of individual gaming groups.
