Triat-Vagi
Frequently mistaken for humans, Triat-Vagi are a unique and spiritual race. Followers of a philosophy/religion called The Threefold Path of the Soul, Triat-Vagi can miraculously separate themselves into three identical bodies.
Early into adulthood a Triat-Vagi will make a three day pilgrimage through the wilderness to a remote monastery, all the while questioning who they are and what it is that they want and need from life. Once at the monastery they will feast as one and drink from three separate cups. Then the Trait will retire to a small room with three beds and fall asleep. When they wake the next morning they will be one soul split among three bodies. Each body contains an aspect, desire, ideal or question that they embody. From there the “triplets” will go on to lead separate lives to enrich themselves spiritually and hope to one day become one being again. Many never achieve this final step.
Triplicated Triat-Vagi are very close yet very different. The closer they are to each other the more they embody their aspects which can grate on the nerves of non Triats. Honestly other Triats as well. This is why many triplicates take to the stars in this state. The space provided by, well space, allows the triplicates to become more fully realized people and not just stereotypes of their aspect. Even then they are connected. If one triplicate dies the others feel a part of themselves die no matter how spread throughout the galaxy they are.
The rare few who manage to become one again have access to three sets of memories and experiences. As a result other Triat-Vagi call them Master. It is even believed these Masters of the Path can temporarily split back into their triplicates. Some whispers purport that one Master can split themselves into 100 different bodies.
