Kami

The Kami are mysterious enetities, possessing powers beyond those of mere mortals. They are considered unknowable, eldritch beings with minds and counciousness that are completely incomprehensible to mortals. They are akin to gods but are not widely worshipped. They have no organised religion and only ferw shrines in key locations. They are generally quite distant, granting their blessing but not interfering further.

Some people follow a kami and gain powers from them, or already have powers and decide to align themselves with one. However not every Consular, Sentinel or Guardian has a patron kami, infact most don't.

The Starmother

Amaterasu Omikami - Great August Goddess that Shines in Heaven

Starlight flows in its veins, Supernovae burn in her eyes and creation shines on their tongue. Her influence touches everything in the known universe.

Temperament

Its light leads the way in the dark and her warmth soothes sore souls. But, it does not go out of its way to help She does not however form any sustantial bonds with mortals.

The Starmother is the most well-known and the most accepted kami. It is treated pretty much like a god and most people like her well enough.

Mechanics

Force-Wielders that follow her must be light-aligned.

Consular

A Consular of the Starmother must choose the "Anshla" Force Affinity.

Sentinels

Very few Sentinels follow the Starmother because of their focus on offense, over defense or Force Powers.

A Guardian of the Starmothe must choose the "Lend Aid" Force Channel option and any Aura except "Hatred" and "Conquest".

The Thunderchild

Susanoo-no-Mikoto - Great Lord of Impetuosity

Its jublilance rumbles across the mind like thunder rolls across the steppe. Tantrums echo across the void of space, shake planets and cause stars to explode.

Temperament

The Thunderchild is the most unstable kami. It delights in any strong feeling. Individuals that often experience heightened emotions might find themselves as the subject of the Thunderchild interest. He likes chaos and will lend his powers to those he finds interesting.

The Thunderchild and his Followers are seen as immature, irresponsible and dangerously unpredictable. This makes most avoid them in day-to-day life and doubly so on the battlefield.

The Moonreader

Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto - The Great Moon-Reader

Its light glows coldly and its comfort false. It is wholly uncaring.

Temperament

The Moonreader is uncaring and cold. It will lend its power to whoever it wants with no regard for the consequences. The Visions that the Moonreaders blessing bring are more like a curse and are very likely to drive a person mad.

People tend to avoid their followers. Many of its disciples have gone mad from the visions that worship of the Moonreader grants them.

The Dread Hostess

Izanami-no-Kami - The Goddess who Invites

The void grows colder and shadows come alive. Stars go out and planets pause in their orbit. The stench of rot permeates from the abyss.

Temperament

The Dread Hostess is the most proactive of the Kami and the only one that speaks to its followers. She whispers into the minds of people, commanding them to do its bidding. Only some of their followers follow them willingly. The Dread Hostess hungers for death and destruction.

The blank, emotionless visages of her followers disturb even the most seasoned warriors. Seeing as these people often leave distruction and death in their wake they are widely disliked though fear of the Hostess keeps people from speaking out against them.

A Consular of the Dread Hostess must choose the "Bogan" Force Affinity.

The Ricebringer

Inari Okami - Great Divine Rice-bearer

The comfort of a full stomach and the warmth of a sisterly smile fills the room. A childlike giggle resounds in the stillness of space.

Temperament

The Ricebringer is mischievous but helpful. It lends its powers to the downtrodden, the helpless, the desperate. They behave like an older sibling. It is said that it is the progenitor of all Nebi and that they are the Ricebringer children.

Relatively unknown outside of Nebi society, most people dont have an opinion of them. Those that do, however, mostly regard them in a positive light.

Ama-Tsu-Mara - One Eye of Heaven

Molten metal flows beneath the surface and drips like blood from its fingers and into the void.

Temperament

The Mirrorsmith is a recluse, only gifting those passionate about crafting his blessing and disapearing again.
