Dr. Haruka

A brilliant scientist that, after disappearing for multiple years, developed extreme paranoia and built scanners and observatories meant to detect foreign invaders.

Early Life

Tamanaha Haruka grew up on Okuninushi Station. Their parents were higher ups in Okuninushi Corporation, leading them to meet the Yamamoto brothers Kichirou and Rin. They grew to be good friends. Tamanaha was a very bright student and graduated from univerity with honors, having earned doctorates in Engineering and Chemistry.

Dis- and Reappearance

After graduating Dr. Haruka joined a ship's crew as its engineer and mechanic. The ship diisapeared, presumed to have crashed, and its crew was assumed dead. Multiple years later, Dr. Haruka arrived back on Okuninushi Station on a jerry-rigged shuttle, babbeling nonsense. Something had happened that drove Dr. Haruka mad. It is unclear what occured and how the doctor had managed to scavange enough working parts to fashion a diy spaceship.

Madness

After returning from their ordeal, Dr. Haruka was fiercly paranoid and conviced that life existed outside the known universe and that it was hostile. They built long-range scanners and obsesivelly observed the edges of the galaxy. They designed watchtowers and observatories and tried to have the Shogun build them. It is reported that they would seldom sleep, too scared of missing the signs on an impending invasion by outside forces.

After the death of Yamamoto Kichirou, they lost the last person that could calm them down and ultimately met their end at their own hands. They had become convinced that the only way to stop unknown armies from invading was to kill themself.

Accomplishments

Though fueled by paranoia, Dr. Haruka progressed the field of scanning, radar and long-distance detection systems by leaps. Their delusion drove them to perfect these machines and invent new methods of locating enemy ships.

Additionally, one of their designs for a guardstation at the edge of the galaxy was realized and named "Earendel Station ". It was however only completed after their death.
