Eleanor - The Trainer

Appearance

Trainer Eleanor is a tall half-elven woman. Often seen carrying a quarterstaff. Always dressed in simple and practical clothing allowing her to retain a full range of movement. She wears her hair usually open, I have no Idea how she manages to keep it out of open flames, or manages to not get it caught in anything during a fight - the woman is blind after all!

Personality

Trainer Eleanor is a strong believer in the fact, that only determination and will can bring a person to prosperity. She has been given the chance multiple times, to heal her eyes with magic, but has always refused - citing that this is what gives her her drive.
According to many former students, she presents herself as very easy-going, while still motivating them to reach great heights. Prior reports from old comrades that accompanied her during missions claim that - and I quote, these are in no ways my own words, I am merely recording them for the archives of his royal majesty King Theoderich III - "Shit is about to go down" when she stops smiling and gets combat ready.
While generally very forgiving and encouraging, especially towards her students, she is not to be underestimated. We have reports of her devastating an entiere enemy platoon during one night, simply because one of them had killed a comrade of hers.

 

History

Born as the fourth child of a minor noble house, she was cast out from birth, due to her blindnes and the inability of her parents to pay for a healer during the time of her birth. Spending a lot of her early youth growing up with the servant's children and her own father's bastards.
As soon as the law would allow it, she enlisted in the army. While discarded at first, she quickly became known for her strategic mind and was put in one of the planning commitees. After an enemy raid on her group, she was the only survivor, managing to kill a great deal of them and fending off the rest, until help could arrive.
Soon after, she was trained as a combat operative and made a name for herself. Her ability to navigate in the absolute dark made her a prime choice for covert infiltration missions.
After the war ended, she opted not to continue her employment in the army and was honourably discharged and took over the position of trainer for some of our ███████████, a post she kept for five years before applying for - and being granted - a temporary leave of absence.
