Chaos belongs to the oldest forces in the known world. It was already old when the ancient gods ascended. We are not sure where exactly it came from, but we do know that this force considers itself to be integral to the structure of the world.After all, where do the greates innovations come from? Where do we gain the greatest insights and the deepest connections? The chaos of the realms is what drives our innovations forward.

While even the most ethereal of ancient gods visit the mortals from time to time, appearing as visions, in dreams or even tasking their followers with specific quests, Chaos has chosen to abstain from this. Or maybe it has become incapable of doing so. There is only one way Chaos communicates with the mortal realms - by choosing champions that are imbued with great powers.Many have claimed that they were chosen as such, few have actually been able to prove it. Some say that Schalk was such a chosen, performing so well that they were allowed their own divine domain after their death.
What is known however, is how unstable these individuals tend to be. Wherever they go, they behave erratically, some producing great wonders that would inadvertently cause the annihilation of entire cities, even though they were intended to benefit the people. Others have created massive battlefields, that brought fourth new life from the rotting corpses. All have one thing in common, during their usually short lifes, they cause a great deal of uproar and change.
Chaos is one of the very oldest people to ever ascend. Before the Silece of Winter knew which guidelines and rules to implement, to guide the ascension of mortals. This resulted in the person bonding to the eternal chaos that suffuses creation, creating a semi aware being with a lot of power and barely the sentience to control it.
