Cassandra - The Deceiver

A Short History of Cassandra

The cleverest of them all, the one that managed to outsmart even the Darkness, when it rampaged through the lands.

Mortal Life

Cassandra was born the daughter of a chief of one of her peoples many wandering nomad clans. From the very beginning was she groomed to become the next ruler of her people. A fate she always was ready to seize for herself - it became a dream killed. The darkness devoured her family and left her alone as the ruler of only herself. She may not have been the first to try, but the first to succeed in actually conversing with the darkness itself. She convinced it, that she was so stricken with grief, that she would do anything to join her family, or whatever was left of it. So she became an agent of darkness, infiltrating clans and families, joining as a simple refugee and finally betraying them to send them into the darkness.

Ascension

Eventually Cassandra became known for who she was, whispered stories, told by lucky survivors, of a young woman - a traitor to all that truly lived. That day she became a trusted ally of the darkness. A moment she had been waiting for since her family died. She finally revealed her true intentions, striking at the heart of darkness itself. A distraction that would prove vital, a distraction an entire army had been waiting for, warned and prepared by the other ancestral gods. Dorok - The Divine Hammer had brought them together, Cerunna of the Woods had hidden them until the moment was right and Kruum - The Denier had trained them well. The distraction Cassandra provided allowed for the first of many devastating strikes that would eventually cleanse the the world of darkness.
She fully intended to die that day, as a traitor to everyone that heard her name, unknown to but four gods and her ancient enemy - a truly selfless act. That day she ascended took up the mantle of godhood, became the patron of all humans and she taught them what it truly meant to be human.
