Deaf, Magical

Magical deafness can be caused by a variety of spells or other magical effects. In most cases, these are temporary. However, sometimes they are permanent. Whether or not they are permanent, the deafness can be instantly cured through a spell such as Lesser Restoration or Dispel Magic. However, this will not remove a deafness that is caused by a curse.  

Variant: Curse

  In the case of a curse, the deafness is only a symptom. If removed through means such as casting Lesser Restoration or similar magic, the deafness will return within seconds. The only way to remove such deafness is through a Remove Curse or similar spell that specifically removes spells, to have the one whom cast the spell lift it, or perform a very specialized ritual.   In the case of a very strong curse, nothing short of a Wish spell can remove it.
