Notes on the Dream Plague
Overview
A poorly kept tome with surprisingly thorough notes in a firm academic text written with scientific shorthand and pedantic terminology. The tome itself is soggy from being kept inappropriately but looks to have originally been an expensive, though basic, binding project.
Quick Analysis
The language inside the Tome ranges from purely objective and disspassionate scientific statements to almost spiritually ecstatic ravings on the nature of man. Notes on subjects appear to have begun 7 months prior with non-lethal experimentation but progressed quite rapidly into probings of the insides of the individuals while thy still live. Somewhere along the 3 months mark the emphasis shifted from curing to making "use" of the "extract" gained from the afflicted, the raving religious rants correspondingly increase with this more drastic change of direction.

Notable Quotes
"What we are is the question, or what we can become - the loss of dreams, the self, leaves a hole, but a hole that is immediately filled with what I can only call potential, an energy of change that seems a promising, though dangerous, element of the transmutative magic Albiere thinks will unite us."
"Subject brought to the dark and pointed towards the red eyes - no response, whatever stimuli in us that triggers the specters is now absent."
"The moon continues to exhibit an influence over the strange phenomena of this world, but I have no reference to call on to explain it."
