The Ruins of North America
The Year: 2008.
The Place: The ruins of North America.
The Sitch: The Cold War went hot.
Mutants and cyborgs roam the wastes, minds fractured, desperate for a cure for their unending pain.
The corporations say they saved humanity. Now they hold it hostage.
City-states dot the nation, each swearing loyalty to a different corp. Some rally under a single parent company. Some war with each other at the executives’ beck and call. All are kept in check under threat of terrible violence.
The lakes, the rivers, even the ocean glow the colors of nuclear fire. Potable water is a privilege.
Whole chunks of the country, of the world, are little more than craters, filling in day by day with liquid radiation the color of blood.
The war rages - freedom versus security. Stability versus liberty. Slavery versus death.
