History
The Pascal Family originated in the mystical nation of Alfethina. They have been known to be talented practitioners of magic and had built up their fortune in creating magical items that enhance their magical studies to new bounds. The Pascals soon devoted their life and fortune to the study of
Anima crystals, learning how to improve the harvesting process to be as safe as possible over a long period of time. Although the Pascals experienced much success they felt the old and traditional ways of Alfethina have been holding them back to achieve their full potential. Thus, the family decided to emigrate to Ethyeria where they eventually became known as the Pascal Foundation.
Organization Growth and the Solar Wars
The Pascal Foundation have been using the family fortune to sponsor various medical and technological groups. These groups prioritize the research and development of Anima energy harvesting to make them as safe as possible. it did not take long for the Pascals to start opening various medical clinics that are dedicated to gathering soul energy from the community to the point where the Foundation provides money to people so they can share some of their spiritual energy as part of the production of Anima crystals.
The Foundation also takes some of the newly made Anima crystals to produce magical items that help magicians and spellcasters around the world to improve their magic. The organization continued to invest in the creation of more Anima clinics, magical items, arcane weaponry, and magic defenses, especially during the Solar War when magical tools were in high demand. Their business in the war in turn continued to fund their research, their magic technology, and Anima science leaping one bound after another in a self-sustaining cycle. Once the Solar War concluded and everyone had turned their eyes to the stars, members of the Pascal joined the first flights to space and joined in the colonization of the new worlds to expand the boundaries of magic and Anima development.
The Family
The Pascals are recognized for several things: their dedication to magic, their strict tradition that form their mature and independent personalities, and their hair color.
They possess high level of intelligence able to finish their schooling at an early age and possess innate magical knowledge in the science of the arcane and Anima crystals. They are also experienced in some form of magical crafting as per their family teachings and are capable of making small or large items powered by Anima crystals as part of their personal use or research.
Around the age of 20, each Pascal will conduct a long journey in which they will leave their home to explore the world outside. During this time they are denied access of family funding in order to train them to become independent and find their own means of supporting themselves. The goal is for them to use reality to mature them, give them hard earned experience, and self confidence so by the time they return home they are capable of continuing major family business or operate the Foundation. Although they will not receive any direct funding from the family, if a Pascal were to ever get into trouble or require emergency they still have access to their foundations resources for assistance. The time frame for these journeys varies, the shortest being six years and the longest being 12 years. Almost always each Pascal would return with a seasoned mind and a magnum opus of their magical research that would earn them respect within their foundation and society. One example of the result of this tradition would be Helvatikka Pascal who currently lives on Jana and designed her own illusory structure known as the
Ivory Tower.
Pascals are normally born with various colored hair, however around the age of 16 their hair color starts to natural bleach and eventually become white as snow. The origin behind this phenomenon is unclear however it is evident among those who possess the Pascal blood and it also makes their skin pale and icy to the touch.
