Molduga

Giant mole whales that can “swim” under the dune seas. They are predatory and often attack travelers if traveling en masse. Their ability to feel vibrations permeating through the sand, allows them to track down their prey with pinpoint accuracy. A weakness in this ability though is that if whatever they are chasing were to jump on to a rock or any surface that isn’t the sand, then they will no longer be able to track them. These large creatures are often hunted for two things: their scales and their organs. Moldugas possess hardened scales that allow them to move under the sand like it was water and deflect most kinetic attacks. Their scales are valuable material for improving static fortifications as well as vehicle armor, which makes them sought after by cityfolk and bandits alike, who would hunt down Moldugas to try and chip away at their scales to acquire the fragments. As for their organs, not only do they possess a lot of tender meat, they are also rich in nutrients that are key in medicinal endeavors, making them highly sought after by those that deal in such services.
