Jana Government

Jana’s government was based on an Oligarchy, previously ruled over by a cabal of the planet's wealthiest elite known as "The Empyrean Court." Inspired by the rebellion sweeping through the Federation, Dracon participated in an uprising on Jana to overthrow the Empyrean Court. Those within the court that could fled the system, while much of the were rounded up and put on trial for a nearly endless list of white collar crime and unfair practices. The only ones that had mercy afforded to them were those who made their business locally and were willing to assist in the cause.
  Now, Jana is governed by a pure democracy where each individual can vote on issues. To help facilitate this, the ivory tower that one held the Empyrean Court has been converted into both a forum where topics can be openly discussed, while the myriad of secure servers have been put to use to both provide a channel for people to remotely participate in discussions and gain information, in addition to handling much of the voting process that takes place. In addition, the mighty corporations that dominated Jana have been heavily restructured, turning every industry into cooperatives that are managed by the people who work in the business and consume its products. The immense wealth that the planet holds has also been put to good use, ensuring each member of the world has a basic income they receive just for existing to pay for basic living expenses.
  The Planetary Defense Force is built out of a volunteer militia operating largely out of an orbital space station around Jana, generally sporting equipment made on-world out of the planet's coveted Hikori metal. Much of their time is spent quelling infestations of dangerous creatures that are spread out across the planet, along with providing an extremely skilled force of mech pilots for the Alarian Union.
