100 years of the GENM Organization

10 years

  Genm has continually grew in scope, opening branches in different parts of the world and developing new products such as improved robotics and other electronic goods. One such product was a military android called the "Onyx Series," named after their dark exterior appearance. A magitech android that blended mechanical and magical components, the Onyx Series Androids were capable of resisting magical attacks, particularly those using fire or lighting. Using this line of androids, GENM was able to break into the magitech business.  

20 years

    As the business continued to grow, so too did the speculations as to who the CEO of GENM was. At first, it was harmless conjecture, but several individuals began trying to take credit by claiming they were the CEO. Once this began to hurt the company, the true owner of the company revealed himself as Desmond Alvarez. This shut down any pretenders, but now opened up Desmond's entire life to the public as people quickly found out about his connections to Legacy and its members. Fortunately, the connection helped the company as it gave GENM a "clean" appearance due to being associated with a heroic organization.  

30 years

  With the looming threat of the Solar Wars, GENM decided to pull resources abroad and focus itself within Kaishi. This action allowed competing corporations to take advantage and begin to rapidly grow as they made massive profits supplying the war. Wanting to avoid being overtaken, GENM began production of defensive equipment such as improving armor for personnel and vehicles, along with creating stimulant drugs intended to help rapidly heal injuries and cure ailments. These humanitarian efforts further improved GENM's positive reputation, as perceptions surrounding the company became that of a company which worked to make the world better.  

40 years

  With the formation of the new Imotaiyo Federation, GENM provides assistance in building the colonies out into proper towns and cities for a better part of 4 years. Afterwards, the CEO announced that they will start cracking down on illicit business practices with the help of the authorities. This grew tensions between GENM and the other corporations but with the amount of power GENM has built over the last few decades, GENM holds their own against most of them. Due to the rise of illicit business deals, they would garner the animosity of the Archimedes Company due to competition within the same market. Espionage, subterfuge and whistleblowing infected the Gemn Corporation for a number of years, severely hindering their development in the process. Forcing his hand, Desmond Alvarez took steps to cleanse his company from the corruption from inside his company and implemented measures to make it difficult for such methods to occur again.

50 years

  Learning from the mistakes of the past and learning of the nature of business surrounding them, the Genm corporation starts to dip their hands into the science business as the new discovery of Tenmon Gates starts to race throughout the Empire. Soon enough, Genm gets a lead on the Science market for their unmanned drones that are able to handle the most hazardous of terrains. These drones were dubbed “The Silver Series'' for their metallic shine and the symbolism behind the name. “Silver” meant that the drones would shine a light on the undiscovered and share that truth for the betterment of I’ltoanl.

60 years

  Based on their ventures and trying to get ahead of the competition, Desmond introduces VR and AR technology that are similar to his own powers but for commercial use. Naming them OddWorlds, they are helmets that allow the user to enter a multitude of randomly generated worlds for players to explore and navigate. During this announcement of tech, the company also enacted a Relief program for outer colonies to be made and supported called the Odyssey Initiative. The initiative would supply food rations and resources for the first few months as well as gear to protect the frontiersman from bandits or other natural hazards.

70 years

  The years following have been trying as the company goes through a scandal in regards to the Odyssey Initiative. Reports of corporate espionage, stolen goods and resources hurt the GENM company continuing with the initiative. In response to this, Desmond asks Legacy for help to subvert the complete failure of the initiative and apprehend the culprits. With Legacy’s help and Desmond’s intuition, they saved what they could of the program, but there was enough damage to the colonies that some of those colonies actually blame Desmond for not acting sooner, calling him a “Corporate Hero”, caring more about profits rather than helping the people.

80 years

  Recovering from the last decade, Desmond works to improve relations with the people by personally working on the colony planets in person. He believed that this got people to not put him on a pedestal and rather humanize him. At first the idea helped and the frontiersmen slowly grew to understand their benefactor. But this allowed Desmond’s competitors an opportunity to “remove” him from the competition. There were multiple instances of Desmond being attacked by Corporate assassins. Though they attacked with persistence, Desmond fended them off with the help of his company as well as his friends from Legacy

90 years

  The GENM company continues to grow bit by bit, but so do rumors of Desmond Alvarez. Following the past decades, Desmond has been both the poster child, spokesman and head of the GEMN company, resulting in the speculation of Desmond’s Identity as human or something else entirely. Desmond attends numerous Q&A’s about his identity and he deflects them each time. Though each time, the media gets closer and closer to what makes him tick. Eventually, the media launches a campaign to reveal any of Desmond Alvarez’s secrets to share with the Foundation. This was abruptly stopped by the Foundation police force as the Media was borderline encroaching on laws made to protect the privacies of its citizens.

100 years

  With the growing aspirations of the GEMN company, Desmond hires Alicia Goldhart Alvarez as his second-in-command of the company. There were some butting heads in the first couple company meetings with Alicia on board, but soon enough the other investors and heads of the company listened to Alicia. Based on her own natural charisma and her knowledge of business, she garnered the trust of the company and works alongside her father.
