Skyrin
Skyrin favor the mountains and high hills of Urth as their domains. These ogrekin prefer having access to the open sky above and seek to have a view of the sky which provides a sense of comfort and home regardless of the weather or time. The sky folke have an affinity for the weather and the constellations of the night sky. Each tall folke of sky blood has a guiding star that they follow which they call an Astrun. Each astrun has a distinct trait, story or persona associated with it in the legends of the Skyrin which they try to emulate, cast off or ignore. Changing one’s astrun is not as simple as deciding to follow another star. Skyrin believe that their spirit is linked to their astrun, and it takes a significant act, a skychange to bond to a new star. Many sky folke believe that those who choose to turn their spirit from their astrun become waifs, lost spirits, should they wander too long or far. Some believe that the astrun itself can cast off the bond itself without action or inaction from the ogrekin themselves. Such an ogrekin is skylorn. A Skyrin can always recognize and find their star in the sky, even in daylight.
Skyrin try to understand the cycles in all things, how they come together and fall apart, particularly how their astrun and others are involved. Weather is a constant topic of discussion among the sky folke. In fact, Skyrin believe that their spirits can surge into the weather. As such, the sky folke often name storms and other weather phenomena after their people such as a particularly scorching summer as Uula’s Scorch or a twister as Kiingan’s Hand. Traditional Skyrin musical instruments are wind instruments of varying types. Of all the ogrekin, skyhir are the people who most look to the future. They will make plans and contingencies, constantly seeking to influence or discover what the future holds. They do not take kindly to false prophesy or foretales. Pretenders do not ply their trade around the sky folke lest woe visit them.
As descendants of the Sky Giants, these ogrekin have a light greyish skin tone and a thick single horn.
