Winter King Hiemal
King Hiemal worked most of his time trying to broker peace between the Progressives and the Naturalists. Especailly when Atlantis began mining deep below the surface. He often sided with the Progressives, fueling a hate within the Naturalists, almost sparking a civil war a handful of times. It was many decades, even centuries of heated negotiations and peace talks.
King Hiemal did support the mining underneath Atlantis, and therefor felt responsable for Atlantis sinking, and the war that followed. It weighed on him for a hundred years. With the help of all the winter mages and witches, he found a magic spell that could put up a barrier to stop the Voidborn from coming through. But it needed the power of Kings and Queens. He wasn't sure if he alone would be enough to make the magic work, but he couldn't ask others to pay for his mistake. Yet when the Summer King Xin, The Spring Queen Titian, and the autumn Queen found all, they insisted they would all do it together. There was much debate, but when the voidborn were nearly at the portals to enter the other realms, they had to make the decision, and made the great sacrifice together, giving it all their powers.
