Vice

While fae do not fall prey to many of the vices and fears humans have, not suffering the sort of systemic racism, poverty or abuse that is not to say there is not corruption of fae values present in the Realms.   Corruption is always a risk though with long lived beings, as age and loss through that time can drive beings to act different than they might have once. There are some faeries who prefer to stay high, to check out of their lives, they are typically cared for, but if a fae hides addiction or vice there is little the community can do to support them.   It is rare to see an organization with any sort of systemic bigtory but more isolated groups, like small villages, insular family communities (packs, covens, etc), or smaller organizations often fall prey to it and can see the rise of petty tyrants within them. Outlandish abuse of power, frequent deaths or injuries and similar things might cause others to look at them a little more closely but fae also respect agency and will give each other space.   Within larger cities, outside of the capitals, there is typically some element of organized crime. Unlike with humans they do not threaten death to those they extort, but there are worse things than death. Curses are considered part of the black market, dark magics that shouldn't be tangled with, and they are often used for coercion. It should be noted that even here it is very rare for real death to happen, or for any targetting of younglings in any manner to be present. Even the most deplorable fae criminal tends to have certain boundaries they won't cross and children are at the top of that list.   These factions do sometimes prey on half bloods though, or on the humans in the fae realms, or even in the mortal realm. Seeking power and influence, playing dark games. Some do it for the thrill of flauting the laws, others do it for other reasons. Most understand they are far more likely to be successful in the mortal realm at getting away with various crimes, but some thrive in the shadows, particular in large merchant cities.   While the setting of the Realms is Noble Bright over all there are ways to have darker themes, but they must be run past the Regents for awareness and with understanding that breaking certain fae laws will result in IC consquences, potentially including exile from the Courts and a muting of much of their power.
