Rites of Dawn

When the spring season first begins, and snow is thicker on the slopes of the mountains near the capital all fae are welcome to attend the Rites of Dawn in the Meadows of Blessing. For days different factions pour in, clans mingling, with laughter and feasting, tents pitched above the meadows themselves in the snow. The cold is said to remind the fae of the calm stillness before life begins, to honor that space as they prepare to welcome the dawning spring sun. The morning of the first day of spring all assembled fae fill the meadows, and the Dawn Queen spills her power through the slopes and valley, shimmering energy in the air as musicians play and dancing begins the moment the sun crests through the mountains and spills into the waiting space. For hours they dance, celebrating the new life as the flowers unfurl their petals towards the sun, raising the energy that will spill through all the realm with it's beauty. When the sun reaches it's zenith the feasting begins, and the drinking, which spills into sensual space, often resulting in wild couplings and groups, lost in pleasure amid the flowers.

Dance of the Blossoms

At the peak of the season when the power of spring is most lush and vivid a great ball is hosted at the Palace of Joy each year. All fae, regardless of Court, are invited, and it spills through the capital city. Music seems to come from everywhere, from sun up when the art exhibits, concerts and picnics begin until the setting of the sun when the grand ballroom is thrown open to all. Blossoms from countless flowers fill the air, swirling down, petals floating on their own, with delicate scents in the air that invite revelry. Pleasure and joy are honored, the race towards summer now begun; theaters performs plays of ancient stories, dancing goes from the ballroom through the city, on all the streets, with thousands of light motes and blossoms filling the sky.
