The Mother Of All Monsters

Among the general populace, the belief is that Dhamoc created all the monsters of the world when he sowed his plague over a millennia ago. However, among the learned and wise, there are those that question the veracity of this statement.

While it is known to be true that Dhamoc's plague spawned many creatures, the Bhanjax and the "Younger races", being the most prominent of these, many sages question the idea that Dhamoc created all the monsters. They often point to ancient tales of monsters and fell creatures running rampant long before Dhamoc's plague. The long-lived, elves and saurial both tell of times when monsters roamed the lands and there are snippets in the religious texts from various religions that imply that many of the creatures we call monsters did at one time exist prior to the plague.  

When asked, the learned Oghamite priests say that these creatures were leftovers from the Gods creation of the world. Their failed or abandoned experiments. The other religions tow this line as well, and even the reviled priests of Dhamoc don't claim otherwise.  

Truthseekers, unsatisfied with these answers, have delved deeper and believe they have found a truth. They believe that in the early dawn of creation, there was in fact a being, opposed to the Gods who spawned these creatures. They name her The Mother of all Monsters.

Extremely little is known about The Mother of All Monsters as her worship is very scarce. Most sages who even consider it to be real chalk up its adherents to be part of a heretical sect of Dhamoc worshippers.
