The traditional two-day holiday demarking the end of the old year and the beginning of the new one. Traditionally consisting of All Hallows Eve and All Soul's Day. Held on the longest nights of the year at Mid-Winter.
All Hallows Eve
All Hallows Eve marks the end of the Tarseran Year. In many countries, it is a sombre celebration of remembrance of those that have passed on. It is said to be when the veil between the lands of the living and the dead is thinnest. Few people travel on this day and most ward their doors against spirits. Only the bravest (or foolhardy) souls answer a knock at the door after sundown on Hallows. Traditionally, it is a day held holy by followers of Korvannah, Asirah and also Dhamoc
All Souls Day
In contrast, All Souls Day is a much more uplifting experience. Where Hallows is more about the dead and honouring their memory, Souls is more about the living and surviving for another year. The longest night of the year has passed and Spring is coming. Souls day is traditionally a day of fresh starts and is symbolically seen as a rekindling of the fires of life that have been almost smothered out by darkness. Traditionally, it is a day held holy by followers of Rayah.
