My Summer Camp 2025

While I've dabbled here and there randomly with World Anvil in the past, Summer Camp 2025 was the real kicker that got me into the platform and helped me create a lot of worldbuilding content for my project world titled The Reach.

>>Intro Article about The Reach will be posted here<<

This universe is blossoming around a six-book series I have been plotting for the last few months, and I have begun writing (in very early draft mode) on my Patreon & Substack). This series is a grimdark, feminist space opera about power, survival, defiance, family, and love. It follows a disabled woman named Rusti Woods who, on Earth, is an ex-SAS soldier and a shapeshifter from an ancient, druidic clan. Out in The Reach, however, she doesn't know what she is, aside from lost.

You can read through my 32 entries for Summer Camp here.

Take pity on me, however. My experience with CSS and HTML is minimal, so all of my articles are ugly to look at, and all are still very much a work in progress as the world develops and progresses.

As a 3D artist in my day job, and a film student on the side, I have every intention of bringing characters and settings to life via 3D printable figures, Unreal Engine scenes and characters, and probably other very ambitious designs that will 100% overwhelm my ADHD ridden brain.

Please hold, it's difficult to choose and I'm still reading.

Worldbuilding Goals for Part 2 of 2025

For the rest of the year, I will be working on completing the first draft of book one while fleshing out the outside worldbuilding here on World Anvil. I will be expanding the articles published in Summer Camp and expanding the design of the World Anvil setup. I have a lot of HTML and CSS coding to learn, and I've reached out to the team about potentially upgrading to Grandmaster for more customisation.

I have been developing a Notion-based outline page formatted for my planning style and equipped with a 6-act structure that combines elements from other structures such as The Hero's Journey, Save the Cat, John Truby's Anatomy of a Story and more.

Book 1 is angled to be around 150k words in length, and an early draft of the first 1/4th of the story is available on my Patreon. This started out as a small chapter-by-chapter project I intended to continue as a (very long) web series, but with some outside recommendations, I've pulled it back from that hobbyistic enterprise and have been working on bringing it down to a six-book span.
