The Crimson Creed

Born from the ruins of the Illithid Wars, the Church of the Crimson Creed is a faith for the hopeless and lost. Embracing those that have lost all and fighting those that have everything, they are both a boon and a bane to the people of the Radiant Nexus. In respect for their high God, Raktosh the Blood Father, and his children the Sanguin Patrica (Blood Gods), they spill the blood of those they consider sinners with zealous ferocity and grant refuge to those that fall before the steps of the Temple of Blood. The organisation also has a deep-seated hatred for all non-divine magic users and elves, seeing both as abominations responsible for the Illithid Wars and the unknown millions of deaths they caused.

Structure

The Blood "Church" acts more like a cult of militaristic fanatics than a religion. It is led by the mysterious aloof Grand Patriarch...who succeed Grand Patriarch Di Salvucci after his death in the year 5005 ABN. The warrior branch of the order, who are simply called the Crimson Chasseurs (or more commonly witch hunters), is really the only part of the cult that has any form of structure, with large sets of fighters, paladins and clerics travelling all around to purge the Nexus of "undesirables", which includes aristocrats, wealthy merchants, soldiers, non-divine magic users and, most of all, elves. Other than the Grand Patriarch and his councillors that stay within the Blood Temple (which is found deep within the Dzika Jungle), the order is mostly ran and spread by the common-folk and thus it is extremely difficult for governments to root out.   The Crimson Chasseurs (although relatively small) has a strict hierarchy. To denote a members ranks they are marked with red tattoos, the more red on a members body, the higher the rank. The ranks of the order in an ascending fashion are:
  • Aspirant (Marked with a single crimson droplet on their forehead)
  • Aspirant Adjunct (Marked with three crimson droplets on their forehead)
  • Aspirant Major (Marked with a single crimson droplet and a full half block of crimson of their forehead)
  • Aspirant General (Full forehead of crimson and one arm covered in crimson)
  • Zealot (Full forehead, both arms and nose covered in crimson ink)
  • Knight Zealot (All but chin covered in crimson ink on the face, both arms and half of chest covered in crimson ink also)
  • Lord Zealot (Full face covered, both arms and full chest covered)
  • Master Zealot (Full upper body covered in crimson ink)
  • High Holy Warden (Full body covered in crimson ink)

The blood of the wicked will wash away the troubles of all righteous men!
