Säkerglass
Säkerglass is a metallic alloy formed from carbon and mithral (which is a magical form of iron). It is stronger than steel but ten times less dense. This has made it a perfect material for building and forging weapons. However, its most astonishing property is its translucence, which is similar to that of ice. This has led to its alternate name, hard ice. Despite its once great abundance in the continent of Snöplats, over mining have caused it to be found only in the deepest recesses of the World's Edge Mountains.

Projects such as the Frost Wall and the Blue Moot are examples of the feats of engineering possible with this metal. However, in recent years, due to its new found rarity, its use is permitted only for projects ordered by a Jarl or Emperor.
