The Prison City of Retallia

In the Kingdom of Retallia, there exists a cruel punishment that makes even the most dangerouns and evil of criminals shudder: the underground Prison City. Once a secret military outpost, it has long since been abandoned, and now all criminals are being given life sentences and are throw in to live out their days in the Prison City. The only provisions are those that were left behind. Wartime structures are made of rotted wood and dllapitated architecture and have been turned into housing, a school, a pub, a general store, and a farm.   There is an aspect of the Prison City that was once a secret, but is now a well-known source of hope: The Trials of Infinity. The Trials are a guantlet of various ordeals that promise freedom, but none who attempted to best the trials have returned. Whether this means they escaped or died...there is no difference. An ever-looming opportunity for the citizens of the Prison City, they all wait and hope for the day that capable adventurers can brave the Trials.
