The Prelacy of Middenmark

Like most of the Northern Reaches, Middenmark has been a lawless frontier until recently. In order to better protect the small, scattered villages from the ever-present threats of orcs and worse, the authorities in Threshold ceded control of the region to the church of St. Ygg. The Forbidden Zone is a central feature of Middenmark. This zone is a badland that was created in the wake of a cataclysm that destroyed an ancient city. Leaving behind a husk of partially destroyed bounties to be looted, and a vacuum of power to be filled. The forces of Law and Chaos are ever at odds.
