The Dark Tide of the Night-Creatures
An ongoing war between all that live on the Planet below and the fierce and unwavering Night-Creatures that seem to pour endlessly from the depths of the Great Forests, it is a battle titled "The Dark Tide of the Night-Creatures", or simply, "The Dark Tide". No one knows where they come from, how so many come to be, or why they seem so keen on eliminating all sentient life on the Planet. All that is known is that these monsters' numbers are practically infinite and unceasing.
The High Elves and Ink Elves are the main adversaries against the Night-Creatures in this forever war, with the Ink Elf armies and the Golden Order of the Empty providing the High Elves with a constant presence of protection. The Ink Elves use magic, creating great walls of force, magical minefields full of explosive runes, and spell slingers ready to throw fire and ice upon any monster than gets to close to Ley-Lhyandir. For the High Elves, their almost endless army of animated dead, encased in golden plate armour and wielding decorated halberds provide their day-to-day protection. After all, something already dead knows no fear in the heat of battle. When the Nigh-Creatures' ranks get too large, the High Elves send out their own living soldiers and generals to assist, holding the line behind the Golden Order of the Empty to allow their dead to take the brunt of the attack.
For the Wild Elves, who live amongst the Night-Creatures within the Great Forests, the war takes the shape of guerrilla warfare instead. From high vantage points up in the branches of the trees, or from concealed positions in the undergrowth, arrows and poison heavily weaken the forces of darkness.

It's very difficult to know what to include in the overview of a war. The conflict is so big, and usually the situation is so complex, that it's hard to know where to start. This is a good summary. Some suggestions and things to think about - I can see an almost unlimited supply of dead, yes. But where are the High Elves getting all the gold? Gold is rare and hard to find, and if it isn't, it loses its precious value (but maybe not its magical significance or properties). Also, if The Dark Tide is so overwhelming, what do the elves do to replenish their numbers? Do other creatures fight The Dark Tide too? Are there other sentient beings on the planet? The article doesn't make that clear (though, tbf, with 336 articles to read, I am unlikely to have time to do much exploring.) Just a couple of pointers about logistics in a military conflict is all :) Thanks for a great read! Sounds like a great world to do DnD campaigning in and I'd have a good time with it!
Hi Diane! These are great pointers, thank you so much for reading through and helping me! Sadly, this article is one that I didn't get much time to flesh out with the impending deadline, so I plan to come back to it once the judging is over. In response to the points, the High Elves plate the armour of the Empty in gold. Whilst they have vast amounts of gold inside and underneath the Spire they live in, they still choose to use little of it, both to keep the rest for decoration and because fully gold armour would be vastly unwieldy. There are other sentient beings on the Planet and the asteroid belt surrounding it, but they are used more often as mercenaries rather than direct fighters. Thanks again for reading this article!
