Horse Thief

DESCRIPTION

Horse Thief is the largest city in the realm of Terrahem. It is also the capital city of the Awe faction. The city is sprawling and built over the enormous ruins of a snowy castle. There are several huge Mob decorating the courtyard who haven't moved in so long that they have become part of the architecture and covered in layers of stairs and structures. Near the center is a large coliseum that houses one of the huge Mob who runs around aimlessly. The building are largely built of huge swords and axes combined with small daggers and armor.

HISTORY

Horse Thief is named after the Mob that is believed to be the reason the realm became bugged and therefore making it a uniquely safe place for Nipik to inhabit. It is believed that the Mob, named Yorik, was supposed to be killed by a guard's arrow while trying to escape before he was executed for his crime of horse theft. This had occurred many times before as witnessed by Nipiks eking out and existence in Terrahem before it became bugged. The event seemed to be some kind of initiation for when a Gamer would enter the realm. At one point, for some unknown reason (most Nipik attribute Dev intervention), the guard's arrow missed Yorik in his escape. Apparently Yorik's demise was so pivotal to the sequence of events that the entirety of the Gamer's initiation just froze as all the Mob utilized in the event became unresponsive awaiting a trigger that would never come. Eventually the frustrated Gamers left the realm and never returned leaving Terraheam open to unrestricted Nipik settlement. The city's builders made a large pen to keep Yorik contained as he runs aimlessly around occasionally shouting "You'll never catch me!". This serves as one of Horse Thief's many attractions and is called "The Flight of Yorik". The grand palace of Horse Thief is built around where Gamers would have stood in this initiation. This was intentionally chosen as a means to display power as usually Nipik settlements avoid Gamer paths with a fevered diligence.
