The Order of the Steadfast Anchor has long worked closely with the Order of the Striking Hammer. Together these two Knightly Orders have moved the technological progress of ocean travel in leaps and bounds. The Turtle Class Frigate is the latest of these Innovations. It's oveall design is that of a standard, if broader, shallow draft frigate. What makes it special is along the both flanks of the Turtle Class Frigate all the way up to the prow is what is known as the Ocean Drop Keel. This is a segmented deepwater blade like keel. When deployed segmented steel plates drop down and lock into place forming a deeper keel with a hallow interior designed to push water back and behind. This allows for more stabilized open ocean travel.
With this deplorable and retractable keel a Turtle Class Frigate can freely navigate open oceans, coastal waters and most of the major rivers of the continent.
Propulsion
The Turtle Class Frigate has three masts: the fore mast, main mast, and mizzen mast. These masts are each equipped with yards for setting square sails,
Weapons & Armament
The Turtle Class has two permanently affixed heavy ballistae. One below the fore mast and the other facing aft off the stern. It carries 8 smaller mobile ballistae that can be affixed at various points on the ship. Two small catapults can also be assembled for shore bombardment. The Armory carries enough weapons to outfit the entire crew and it's marine complement.

A Secondary benefit of the Ocean drop Keel is the steel segments, when deployed, give the ship a suit of plate armor
