Luitpold I, whose full name was Luitpold von Holswig-Schliestein, is elector count of Reikland.
Luitpold I is somewhat paranoid, often sees spirits, and was very protective of his family. Politically, his paranoia manifested itself as a desire to appease rather than oppose the elector counts.
This didn't make Luitpold I a man with no abition, he trived on abition. Luitpold I is one of the most influencial elector couns in Rhemia at the present day. He convinced Rhemia to go to war with Braia.
Luitpold I began his reign after the death of his father who died due to unknown reasons. However, he was elector count at a relatively early age. He was only 30 when he became an elector count. His rise of influence was swift, due to his skill in politics. Luitpold I is also a proven general, leading his army to defeat small warbands he quickly gained experience on the battlefield. Later in 1102 he lead a small army to help Tillea against a growing revolt. The successes of his campaign quickly made him famous in both Reikland as it did in the other provinces.
Family
Luitpold I has a daughter. But rumour goes that he also has a bastard son. rumors go that the mercenary Voland was none other than the bastard son of the elector count. Voland himself never sought to affirm or contradict any of these tales, which consequently grew even more elaborate and unlikely over the years. His daughter Katherine is a popular noble woman in Reikland. Her grace upon the Reiklanders is well known, as she helps the poor with accommedations and with food. She also has set up funds to help the wounded soldiers with better medical care. The imperial Reikland armies hold her in high regard. and sing poems about her beauty and kindness.
