Hjartagjafi, the Heart Devourer (He-yar-ta-guh-yah-fee)

Forged in the time long before the rise of Hrothmund and the Pantheon of the High War, the original name of the weapon has been lost to time, the only clue being an ancient, unidentified script engraved at the base of the blade, which is now nearly indecipherable. When it was originally found in a dark, unmarked tomb, deep within the Ebony Peaks, Valamar, who was only 17 at the time, described finding the weapon as "deeply unsettling," and "morally dubious." Nonetheless, Valamar took up the weapon, claiming it as his own before setting off to the Old Kingdom to discover his heritage.   Valamar gave the weapon the name Hjartagjafi, or Heart Devourer, in Old Ragniasi, after winning duels and battles with the weapon. Whenever it became coated in blood, its jagged, uneven edge became sharper; so keen in fact, that it preemptively showed Valamar how to cut holes in space-time, allowing him to traverse Primordia without using the Ragniasi Anchorgate in Storm's Chain.   In the Third Convergence, Hjartagjafi earned a legendarily fearsome reputation, catapulting Valamars' ascension to near godhood, culling dozens of rival Lords and billions of weaker foes, forever proving that Valamar had a role to play in the Final War.   Currently, Hjartagjafi's whereabouts are murky at best. Many, less informed, tell the story of Valamar's fall, the sword shattering when he attempted to mantle Adaliah as Creation Incarnate. However, the truth is much more terrifying. Hjartagjafi still exists, but is sealed away far beneath the surface, and as far as physically possible from Valamar's resting place, for fears that if the weapon ever returned to Valamar's hand, that the Dread King of Ragnias would rise again as a draugr of unfathomable power.
