Edric Ironhand, the Fifth Cipher
Prince Elnaril Balgolor (a.k.a. The Dragon of Morganos)
A Half-elf native to the Realm known as Morganos, Edric is the last remnant of the Elvish Culture that once dominated all of his native Realm. As a half-elf, he is shunned by the pure-blooded elves for his impurity and hated by men because he is more gifted than them in body and mind. Formally known as Elnaril to his elvish counterparts, Edric has fought hard for his way of life, living in isolation from the other cities, becoming attuned to his chaotic world and the forces that shape it, alongside his lifelong companion, Hirador. As the last of his people and the most connected to the world, Edric must rise to the challenge and prove that the past still has lessons to teach.

Personal history
The Dominus, Valdr Varricsson, was not amused by the arrival of a stranger on his doorstep, claiming to be a Lord of another Realm, almost killing him for such believed idiocy. But the Dominus was swayed to his cause when Edric produced Roselir, which Valdr felt the presence of as it was revealed. Realizing that it could only be made by a Lord, Valdr joined Edric in search of allies.
The duo was turned away at every Lord they sensed, realizing that finding allies was almost futile. Then, they came to Keltosil and met with Reyna Stalsworth.
During their Convergence, Edric and Valdr became fast friends, Hirador often carrying them both into the thick of battle, dropping Valdr where he was needed most while Edric blanketed the battlefield with heavy iron darts and fire. The duo even managed to develop a form of time travel on accident, sending them forward in time to a point in which Valdr had died, and the Resurgence had won. While here, they discovered that Valdr's daughter, Sigrun, had risen to her father's position and had even mantled Hrothmund. After returning to their current present, however, Edric's Sight showed him a vision through his dreams, predicting that now that Valdr knew Sigrun would survive, it could alter their current timestream and send them spiraling down an alternate timeline.
Throughout their Convergence, Edric developed feelings for Reyna, seeing her sense of wonder and awe at his displays of simple magic, having never seen any form of it before. Her admiration of the Magistrate did become a mutual feeling eventually, somewhere around halfway through their war, culminating in a night of romance that Edric had spent many days planning. However, the capture of Valdr and the deaths of Aelwyd and Sigrun dulled their romance, with Reyna seemingly abandoning his affection entirely. After Valdr's ascension to godhood, Edric and Reyna grew even more distant, and Reyna became a paramour and consort-to-be to the newly crowned God of Vengeance, but, he stayed at their side, marching forward despite the grim aftermath Valdr left in his wake.
After the Five Rival Lords had all been slain, the Trio surrounded Aelius’ stronghold, his army surrendering at the mere sight of a sea of Ragniasi, Keltosilan, and Morganos warriors outside their gates. Edric, atop Hirador, carried both Reyna and Valdr to Aelius’ throne room, breaching the doors with ease to be greeted by the Heir to the Fireborn, as sly and pompous as ever. As Valdr advanced, placing the tip of his blade at Aelius’ throat, the Heir spoke of the damning truth Edric had learned, convincing Valdr that his family could've been saved, had Edric told him of the threat.
Valdr's rage was inconceivable, grabbing Edric with his free hand and lifted him off the ground, choking the Magistrate. "You lied to me!" Valdr said, preparing the plunge his sword into his friend and end his suffering. Reyna saved Edric's life, throwing herself between them, forcing Valdr to release Edric and exclaiming that she knew too- Edric had told her the night after he had found out. It took only a moment for Edric to conjure Roselir and save Reyna's life in turn.
After they escape from Valdr, Edric and Reyna received a message stating that Aelius was no longer a problem, and should be considered dead. Edric and Reyna then left for Primordia, to return to their realms and say their goodbyes. Although, to Edric's surprise, Reyna had other ideas, convincing Valdr to undo what Hrothmund did, and bring the shattered and distant Realms together again, to return to one cohesive whole. Valdr reluctantly agreed, under one condition- Neither of them nor their peoples would ever set foot on Ragnias again, and if they did, he would consider it an act of war and slaughter all who stood in his way.
Edric and Valdr worked together for the last time here, Valdr physically pulling the Chains that linked the realms to Primordia, and Edric using his mastery over gravitic magic to hold them in place. When the deed was done, the realms of Morganos, Keltosil, and Ragnias were once again whole, along with all the shattered remnants from countless smaller realms, Valdr returned to his home, seemingly never to be seen again.
Only after their Convergence concluded and three long years, were Edric and Reyna finally able to rekindle their romance. but it did not last long, as Valdr's return was made clear by a message sent to Reyna, and intercepted by Edric to deliver the news himself. With only a few weeks until Valdr arrived in Reynshold, the duo made plans, finishing the construction of Edric's greatest work- the Harmonic Forge.
After Valdr betrayed and murdered Reyna, Edric fought hard to push Valdr back long enough to use the Forge but was beaten and bloodied by Valdr's invincibility, only gaining a chance of victory after Hrothmund arrived to assist in his physical form. Even with the assistance of the God of War, Edric struggled to maintain consciousness as the titanic forces of Valdr and Hrothmunds threatened the fabric of reality itself.
After the Great Raid of Reynshold and Valdr's erasure from reality, Hrothmund confided an unsettling truth to Edric and Hirador; Valdr was not dead, and never could die- the nature of his godhood prevented it. After this, Edric and Hirador disappeared for many years, only returning when they had found a way to combat the angry and hateful God of Vengeance
