Miniaturized Moon Pool
Utility
These moon pools are designed to fit inside smaller submersibles, and are meant to provide convenient access to the water outside, mostly for divers and marine researchers operating personal seacraft. It is most widely used inside the Sobek Explorer Submarine.
Inventor(s)
This technology was thought to be first conceptualized by a marine biologist by the name of Victor Tenorio, when he supposedly got to speak with one of the shareholders of Sobek. Although Sobek was initially skeptical that the idea would work, they began investing in research of this idea, and eventually managed to create an airlock system small enough for this miniaturized moon pool to function properly.
Access & Availability
Not widely used, most often used by marine researchers.
Complexity
Not very complex. Only needs to be two feet wide to allow a person to enter and exit, as well as the hatch being closed except for when in use.
