The Cycle

The Cycle is a ritual that takes place every 300-500 years over that period. It was created by the gods to disperse the Korr energy that is bound to the universe.   Every 500 years, the two surviving members of the Korr, Terry The Tarrasque and Purity, are reborn, along with their non-Korr champions.   The two go through separate periods of education, along with their champions, for several decades before being let free into the world.   Terry The Tarrasque becomes a lodestone for many beastial creatures, such as goblin-kin, weres, and giants, forming The Horde.   Purity rebuilds The Church of Purity. Many of their followers follow them into rebirth, emerging around the same time, and quickly rejoining their master. The church continues to gather new followers as the Cycle progresses.   Finally, as the power of the Korr reaches its zenith, Terry The Tarrasque and Purity transform into powerful versions of themselves and lead their armies to the Etherial Plane, where they battle.   The battle has always ended with the complete destruction of both Korr, their champions, and their armies. And the Cycle begins again.   The gods created two groups of celestials to watch over the Cycle. The Guardians are tasked with protecting, aiding, and giving courage to the armies, and The Defenders, to protect the secret ritual and punish deserters.   Not all gods agree with the Cycle, but see no other alternative. In particular, Mannen Mac Lir has tasked Warren with finding out about the Cycle, and providing a mortal's perspective on if it should continue.
