Seth Keran
Seth Keran belongs to one of the oldest families of librarians. Inheriting the wit of his ancestors and also their hunger for knowledge, he rose quickly in the ranks of the librarians. As a young man he went out into the world as one of the book hunters. He brought back many rare and valuable books.
But after a few years, he begann to change in a rather unwished for - yet already precessed - way. Some say it is a curse in this family, laid on them by an angered spirit. But of course no serious librarian believes in such things as spirits and magic.
Yet as such was the way of this oddnes that occured in a number of members belonging to this family, Seth Keran began to see explanations for so far unexplained things of past and present in magic. He began to talk about magic creatures he had met on his way and even stranger things he had learned from them.
Within two years he had fallen from the grace of the elder librarians.
Without minding the disbelieve he encountered among the other librarians he continued his studies, soon more tolerated than appreciated in the depths of the The Great Library. This went on for some years. Due to the sophisticated teachings of the other librarians, aspiring young members of the order of the librarians were warned about him and the developing of a fraction within the order was prevented.
It thus came that when the day of destruction came for the library, Seth Keran was already close to reaching the age of fifty. Yet as he managed to escape the collapsing rock unharmed his knowledge was by far to great to leave him behind and so he was accepted in the company of the travelling librarians as the skies were darkened again. In all lis later years he tried to convince the remaining librarians of his views. It mus be admitted for the accuracy of this report that he succeded with this on one of his descendants.
So it came to pass that the false truths of an old mad man survived when all the collected knowledge and wisdom of the known world was buried.
