The QBU-202 ‘Yāoguài’
The QBU-202 ‘Yāoguài’ is a specialized superheavy anti-materiel rifle created for the use of Yuanjing Special Detachment 'Yāoguài' after its development into a high value target elimination group. Built to kill targets in a single hit, through Battledress, it is one of the most potent chemical firearms ever devised and is a highly sought after weapons platform, though export restrictions, and an eye-watering price on the market mean that the QBU-202 remains primarily in the hands of Special Detachment 202. The QBU-202 is considered a “craftsman” weapon, requiring specialist gunsmiths (or, in theory a highly advanced fabricator if the blueprints could be obtained) to construct. However it is relatively reliable and has a number of ergonomic features that not only allow it to be used in most conditions, but be relatively comfortable, if one is capable of hefting its considerable bulk.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The QBU-202 is at its core a heavy duty, semi-automatic, anti-materiel rifle firing the 20mm round commonly used by light autocanons. It is engineered with precise tolerances that dramatically increase the range, stopping power, and armor penetration capability of the weapon. It has a high-tech multispectral scope and rangefinder built in, as well as other sighting aids allowing the user to track and engage targets from extreme distances, ensuring the operator can use the weapon to its maximum range. Due to an advanced gas retention system the QBU-202 is perhaps one of the largest suppressed weapons in the known galaxy, in addition to being operable in space, provided the user is braced against the considerable firing recoil of the weapon. Though not as powerful as some other portable support weapons, it excels in engaging and eliminating hardened targets relatively quietly, especially when paired with specialized ammunition.
Manufacturing process
The QBU-202 is produced exclusively by a special department of the Yuanjing State Armament Bureau with some of the most skilled gunsmiths in Yuanjing. Each weapon is hand assembled with parts produced by a mixture of hand machining, and printing from specialized fabricators. This means that the QBU-202 is available in only limited quantities, with examples of the weapon commanding an extremely high premium on the open market when they can be found at all.
