Parditech

Parditech is a term for new technologies derived from Pardian data wafers that have been unlocked with the aid of the enhanced Psionic capabilities humanity has achieved since the Jred Scourge. With the greater understanding of what Pardians were trying to communicate to each other telepathically, the potential Pardian technologies that have been unlocked since the Scourge have, in areas where the technology has begun to circulate, dramatically improved quality of life, and increased understanding of the Pardians and the Pardian civilization. It is important to note however, that Parditech is distinct from Pardian artifacts which have also been found in working order, as Parditech are technologies that humans have built adapting Pardian knowledge, whereas artifacts were built by the Pardians themselves.

Discovery

Knowledge of Pardian data wafers was relatively common, with the first such wafers being uncovered in the Minh System in the late 28th century. However, even with working examples of Pardian artifacts the limited, virtually nonexistent, telepathic capabilities of humans at the time made many technologies functionally inaccessible. Though many great leaps were made through raw computational powers at the time, notably including the development of jumpgates, black globes, and man portable fusion technologies. However, without understanding the language of the Pardians, it was impossible to progress further. After the arrival of the Jred, and the spreading of psionic abilities caused by spore infections however, psionically gifted humans became much more common, and more capable. These new psions would flee from the Jred, and some would eventually settle in the Pardian Frontier. Over time, some new settlers would take up a life of science, and many would go on to assist in finally understanding the Pardian language enough to get more from data wafers, leading to the first true Parditech developments.

Fields of Parditech

Antimatter Power

Antimatter theory was, previous to the development of Parditech, very limited. Though its existence had been understood since the ancient past, harnessing it was another matter. The first labs constructed to create and handle Antimatter, were extensive affairs, requiring a massive particle collider to get anything usable from them. However, with the advent of Parditech, relatively small frontier facilities have begun to experiment with the creation of antimatter with an eye towards harvesting energy from matter-antimatter reaction, as was believed the case with Pardian civilization. If such a breakthrough were to be made, it could catapult energy production to a new high that would be nearly unthinkable to humans of the pre-fusion era.

Artificial Intelligence

Though humanity had extensive experimentation with and development of artificial intelligence dating to before the interstellar period, progress in this development was historically quite slow, and human science never developed a truly sapient artificial intelligence. Integrating Pardian technologies, a number of robotics designers have managed to dramatically improve the capability of their artificial intelligence, leading to the birth of the first human produced, fully sentient AIs in the era after the Long Night.

Robotics

Another field where Parditech enhanced, rather than created from whole cloth. Humanity had achieved much in the field of robotics. However, the with the unlocking of Pardian wafers, the field of robotics saw significant changes, particularly in the field of micro and nano-robotics. Though human experimentation had achieved much in these fields, Parditech crystals fostered the development of reactive nanites that can react in real time to certain environmental conditions, this allows the new nanobots to create almost anything, or react to the needs of the user in a way that could not be done with the nanomachines of earlier eras. Other advancements have allowed for the development of better androids, and indeed biological robots that are virtually indistinguishable from natural organisms.
