Faithful

The faithful are those who dedicate their lives to their faith and make spreading it their full time job. The faithful typically espouse religion, but ideologies, cults, or even self-help programs can attract practitioners that could be considered 'devout' spreaders of it. Most are "lay" faithful, those who lead relatively sedentary lives, however, some faithful will put other work into spreading the faith, either in the form of humanitarian works, or serving as holy warriors spreading the faith by the sword.

Mishaps

1Severely injured (this is the same as a result of 2 on the Injury Table). Alternatively, roll twice on the Injury Table and take the lower result.
2Your faith is persecuted by wider society. Leave this career and lose all benefit rolls from it, or gain D3 enemies from your wider home society who are sworn to hunt you down.
3Ambushed by enemies of the cause! Roll on the injury table.
4You have been taught false teachings. You may repent, if you do, lose one skill level from Profession (religion) or Science (belief) and your benefit roll but you are not ejected from this career. If you chose not to repent you are ejected from this career, lose all benefit rolls, but gain an ally as the person who brought you out of the faith becomes a close friend.
5Your faith is riven with factional conflict, you are forced to choose a side. Gain D3 Rivals who choose another side.
6You are caught up in a scandal involving your faith. Though you are not directly implicated, indirect connection to the scandal still hurts you. Lose a benefit roll but you are not ejected from this career.

Events

2Disaster! Roll on the Mishap Table, but you are not ejected from this career.
3Someone who is less devoted than you, but with greater charisma becomes your direct superior. All future advancement rolls are subject to DM-2.
4You have the opportunity to profess the faith a sector wide audience via a public forum. Gain a level of Carouse or Persuade.
5You spend time preaching among the poor and dispossessed. Gain a level of Streetwise or Persuade
6You secretly agree to provide services for a dignitary who is not publicly a member of the faith. Gain an Ally from someone close to that dignitary but D3 Rivals who disagree with your decision.
7Life Event. Roll on the Life Events table.
8You retreat from the wider world and into your faith. Your show of faith impresses the other faithful, but cuts you off from outsiders Lose SOC -D3 but gain D3 Benefit rolls and DM+1 on these and all future Benefit rolls.
9You are called upon as a consultant for a documentary or research project about the faith. Gain one Contact and +1 on one Benefit roll.
10You are offered a chance to betray the faith in exchange for a monetary reward. If you do, you are ejected from this career and lose all benefit rolls from it, but gain 2Dx10,000 GCr per benefit roll lost. If you refuse gain 1D Enemies.
11Your extreme dedication to the faith is recognized. Gain a DM+4 to your next promotion roll.
12Thanks to your efforts your faith achieves a major win, gaining a lot of followers or striking down a major opposition. You are automatically promoted. If you are at the maximum rank already you must leave this career at the end of this term, but automatically qualify for the Dignitary profession.

Assignments: You must choose one of the below as an assignment.
Preacher. You have a fairly sedentary position as someone bringing the faith to select community.
Humanitarian. You spend your career in the faith doing good works as a means to build goodwill in wider society and attract converts.
Holy Warrior. You are a fighter for the faith, bringing to outsiders by the sword.
Survival:
Preacher. SOC 4+
Humanitarian. INT 6+
Holy Warrior. END 7+
Advancement:
Preacher. EDU 8+
Humanitarian. END 6+
Holy Warrior. DEX 5+
