C-9 'Commando' Series Battle Droid
The C-9 ‘Commando’ Series of robots are advanced combat robots designed and manufactured by Cybersynth Robotics. Intended to be the equivalent to special forces soldiers, these robots are much more capable than other Cybersynth combat robots in a wide array of combat related roles. Though its detractors would claim the C-9 series is not as good as a sufficiently well trained human soldier, they remain extremely capable, general purpose robots with a focus on combat and small unit tactics. C-9 series robots are very popular with wealthy systems with limited populations, as they can be an extremely effective fighting force for a comparatively minimal investment.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The C-9 series is a humanoid shaped robot (contrary to Cybersynth marketing, this “droid” is not a proper android), with extreme agility and high strength, wall crawling abilities, a broad array of environmental tolerances and enhancement. C-9s also have advanced sensor suites, and high-tech robot brains. They have a strong communications suite as well as a drone interface (though this is sometimes removed in some runs of the Commando droid), they also have a storage compartment that is typically used to hold personal weaponry, and a good amount of spare bandwidth to program in vital skills as required. This enables the C-9 to serve a broad array of roles, though it maintains a combat focus.
Manufacturing process
The C-9 series is produced exclusively in the higher tech Cybersyth facilities, with a few major manufacturing complexes scattered around civilized space, and some frontier worlds producing C-9 droids in moderately sized production runs. C-9 robots are generally machine assembled with parts manufactured through a mix of fabricators and traditional manufacturing.
