B-7 'Ace' Series Pilot Droid
The B-7 Series of pilot or bridge droids also known as the “Ace” are a range of pilot and astrogator robots designed and produced by Cybersynth Robotics as excellent pilots, and astrogators. Originally designed as an outgrowth of the A-7 series, the B-7s have traded overall versatility for larger, more capable brains, higher agility, and greater resilience to spaceborne environments. The B-7 series is less generally capable than many of Cybersynth’s robots, but it can still be readily modified in the care of a sufficiently skilled roboticist. Despite being marketed as a “droid” by Cybersynth, it is not a true Android, rather a relatively advanced traditional robot.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The B-7 series is a more advanced, and more specialized version of the A-7 series of robots. The B-7 series is built upon an A-7 series chassis, with some of its armoring, advanced sensors, and external power and command chips replaced with environmental protections against common conditions in space, quick charge, and a larger, more capable brain. Though not as readily modifiable as the A-7 series, more advanced versions of B-7 series pilot droids exist with even more advanced brains, typically to program higher astrogation skills. Such B-7 series droids are usually referred to in marketing materials as B-7 Plus droids.
Manufacturing process
The B-7 series is produced every manufacturing series that also produces the A-7 series (which is most of them), though the B7 Plus series robots are manufactured in more limited runs, requiring distribution of robot brains from more advanced facilities .Most of the assembly is performed by machine with most of the parts produced in fabricators, while the robot brain must be manufactured by hand.
