Adjudant Domestic Robot
The Adjudant domestic robot is a model of domestic service and general labor robot built by CECIR. It possesses a relatively unique chassis design, essentially a grav propelled sphere with a pair of extended sensor “eyestalks” and four underslung manipulator arms. Due to its low cost compared to similarly advanced robot models, and extremely useful, high tech design, the Adjudant is one of CECIR’s most popular models, maintaining a noticeable backlog of orders despite the fact that hundreds of thousands are produced every year.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The adjutant is a robot with a relatively unusual design. Its main body is composed of a sphere supported by a gravitic repulsor plate that also serves as its primary means of locomotion. Housed within this outer shell is most of the bot’s sensitive electronics along with a small, refrigerated storage compartment. Two sensor bearing “eyestalks” extend upward from the core, and four relatively small but dextrous manipulator limbs extend downward. These manipulator arms are typically given “grasping hands” but sometimes come equipped with saw blades, hand flamers, or welding torches in specialized models.The Adjudant possesses a Very Advanced robot brain, that normally is onboarded with a broad array of skills useful in a domestic service context, however, variants exist without skill software for both cost savings (reducing the price of a new Adjudant by more than half), or flexibility.
Manufacturing process
Adjudant robots are produced in CECIR’s primary manufacturing facility in the Nueva Catalunya System. The process is quite involved, as although CECIR has fabrication chambers able to fabricate the vast majority of required components in a fab chamber, the robot brain must be manufactured traditionally, and final assembly must still occur by hand. Despite this, CECIR can still manufacture roughly a thousand Adjudant series robots a day, and have been trying to slowly scale up production.
