Holovite

Holovite, otherwise known as Hardlight, is a mixture between technology and magic. Magic users can conjure a holovite barrier using only their magic, or a barrier placement device can be bought and used.
Holovite is highly customisable and versatile. Its colour comes in shades of pinks, oranges and blues; depending on the choice of the user. There are artists and corporations that use multiple receptacles to get greater colour variation within their work.
Durable but not indestructable, holovite forms collapse when either the receptable is destroyed or the hardlight takes too much damage.

Utility

There are various uses of this technology. Most modern blades appear to only be a pommel, with the holovite blade materialising in on command. Most ranged weapons use an energy cell that create holovite projectiles that are shot at their targets.
Certain gaming systems use holovite receptacles to create scenes in front of the player. Advertisement boards all over the cities use holovite code to create moving images. Some of the more sophisticated companies and homes have a management AI, with a holovite appearance when needed
Some cybernetic body parts have holovite receptables that can produce various effects like arm blades, leg extensions, impact barriers and shields.

Manufacturing

A holovite device, or receptacle, is stored with magic and code that defines its function. Some receptacles are small and only carry a singular function within its coding, while others are bigger and have multiple or more complicated uses.
Access & Availability
Holovite items can be found everywhere. Almost every household will have some sort of holovite item in it.
Complexity
Any person access to magic and a working knowledge of cyber-engineering can create a simple holovite receptable. The more complex the design, the more resources are needed to create it. Mega corporations spend millions each year on the fabrication of mega receptacles. The magic required to create these advanced receptacles is only available to those that have the money to pay for it.
