Beta Werewolf
Beta werewolves were created by Alphas to aid in the war. Unlike Beta vampires, which were created to aid a bloodline's legacy, then later in the vampire war against the elves after the Rupture, beta vampires had a much more simpler purpose. In the Void they were created mostly from the local races like Void Elves and Void Goliaths. They served mostly as a way to boost numbers for protection, scouting and infiltration.
These days, almost most races have beta werewolves. They are created for a variety of reasons, and most get integrated into the pack who's bloodline created them, but there are a few lone wolves out there that create a beta or two to form their own pack.
If a werewolf decides to make a person a beta, they have to choose to choose to inject their venom into their target when when biting them. This process if called 'The Gift'. Not all bites contain venom, the werewolf has to choose to inject it. During the next few days the to-be werewolf will have a fever, often accompanied by restless sleep and a desire to hunt. During the next full moon they will experience their first transformation into a werewolf. At this time, the werewolf responsible for this transformation (The Tutor) will take their new beta under their wing and teach them their ways.
After a period of instruction, usually a few months to a year, the new beta will be able to control their shifting and will be considered an official member of their pack. Betas hardly ever return to their old life after their first transformation, their duties are always for the betterment of their pack. Most packs in the cities don't live toghether like they would in the wild. Each beta has their own purpose within the pack, but is free to live where they want within the city. A beta can give the gift and create another beta. The further a beta is in the creation line from an alpha, the lower they are in the social rank, though. But they may still climb the rank their chosen duty.
