Spirit Arts

Spirit arts refers to techniques that uses spiritual energy to produce supernatural effects, analogous to magic.

Overview

Much like how magic is fueled by magical energy, spirit arts is fueled by spiritual energy. Spirit arts can be used by spiritualists (inside and outside of their vessels) and spirits. Spirits, being the originator of these techniques, instinctively use their spiritual energy to manifest the effect. In contrast, humans had to come up with ways to manipulate their spiritual energy to produce similar effects. This was achieved through the use of incantations with some potential hand gestures, thus coining the term “spirit arts”. Expert users are able to shorten the incantations and even forego it once they truly master the technique. Hand gestures, however, cannot be omitted. Additionally, while a mistake in the incantation may result in a slightly different spell effect, the wrong hand gestures (if the technique requires it) will not manifest any effect and could potentially harm the user.

The magnitude of effect of a spiritual technique depends on the strength (density) of the user’s spiritual energy. As such, even a low-level technique cast by an expert or master can have devastating effects.

Spirit Arts Techniques

Spirit arts technique can be classified into four basic types (attack, defense, support, healing) and can be of eight attributes (earth, water, fire, air, lightning, ice, light, darkness) or attribute-less.

Examples of spirit arts technique:

  • Transformation
  • Fire ball
  • Air bullet
  • Rock pellet
  • Thunderbolt
  • Eternal darkness

Exorcism

See: Exorcism

Exorcism, as performed by the Christian churches, requires a special type of spiritual energy initially bestowed upon humans by God and/or His angels (the origin is unknown). This specific type of spiritual energy can purify (is toxic to) demons from Hell.
