Reapers
All life must eventually come to an end. When this happens, the soul leaves the form one had inhabited and moves on to someplace new, someplace where one will be born again. However, as this happens, an echo of one's mind is left stranded in the world with nothing to latch on to. Then it is the duty of those dedicated to helping these poor lifeless beings to bring them to the BloodStream, the largest river in the NecroVerse. It is only there that the spirits of the departed may rest. The names of these echoes, for the people of the Multiverse do not truly know what happens to the souls of the dead, are merely titled Lost Souls, and those who gather them and return them to the BloodStream are dubbed Reapers.
The Order of Reapers is a divine sect of Ba'alNecro based in the NecroVerse in the city of Gralla, which borders the BloodStream on the side of Shallum, one of the three regions of the Xant empire.
Career
Qualifications
To become a Reaper, one must undergo extensive training and discipline to be deemed worthy of the title. Aside from that, one must have an advanced experience Death magic. In addition, each Reaper must swear an oath for Ba'alNecro to protect the divine power of the BloodStream, to never cause needless death, for to sully Death is to sully Ba'alNecro, and to never give in to the corruption of undeath, for to defy Death is to defy Ba'alNecro.
Other Benefits
Reapers are members of a unique and respected order. All Reapers are welcome to stay at the monastery which belongs to their branch of the order, as well as gain favors if given sufficient need and reputation within the order. Reapers are also granted exceptional life insurance. When a Reaper does die, their bodies are sent floating along the BloodStream to serve Ba'alNecro in their afterlife.
Perception
Purpose
The purpose of the Order of Reapers is to put to rest Lost Souls, which by the way are incredibly unsettling in everyday life.
Social Status
The Order of Reapers, as a holy order, is well respected, though often feared, group within most circles.
Demographics
Not many people ever become Reapers as their code is incredibly strict, and fewer still have ever become a Reaper who were not a NecroMajus.
History
Lost Souls have been part of the world since before the Great Separation, when a plague of Lost Souls terrorized the known Multiverse. This was when one particular NecroMajus was visited by Ba'alNecro himself. He taught this NecroMajus how to bring Lost Souls to the BloodStream and to set them afloat toward the realm of the dead, where they would continue to exist in peace.
The NecroMajus set to work, travelling from place to place and rounding up any and all Lost Souls to send them adrift along the BloodStream. They would come, do their god-given duty, and leave, all without a word. This went on for several years until they were too old to perform the necessary tasks. It was then that they took on an apprentice. Years later, that apprentice founded the Order of Reapers, which became recognized as a holy order of Ba'alNecro. The tale of the Solemn Reaper has survived until today, much like the actual practice of Reaping, but has since been modified in many different ways.

Reapers' one main service is to lay to rest the souls of the departed, though some may console those impacted by one's death through kindness alone.
