The Remnant

The Remnant is a vague myth, completely unknown to most inhabitants of Tellus; the Remnant is spoken of by soothsayers and seers, those especially close with the nature of Tellus, but even then, what it is and where it comes from is a mystery. Karathus as a nation is particularly invested in this legend, having a close tie with the urkali, and thus, the mist. To some, the Remnant is their god, to others it is a power to be striven for, but to all who know of it, whatever it may be, it is a prophetic thing, and when it rears its head, all will feel it's power.   During the Cosmic Sundering when Erra's forces invaded Tellus, Talis made a fatal sacrifice to embolden the power of their planes, splitting their essence into two fundamental avatars, the Cascade and the Symphony. The Remnant is all that remains of Talis after this split, a faded fragment of the creation that sparked all life; perhaps it may return one day.
