Lurnstrikt
How the beginning of time, space and the Tellurian plane came about is completely unknown to all mortal life, even the deities have no knowledge of what came before them, though many have tried to learn the secrets of the universe. The truth of this is one of the most closely guarded secrets in all the planes, held by the Lurnstrikt, some of the single most powerful beings in existence after the fall of Erra and Talis.
The Lurnstrikt are an order of primordial beings once known as the Eidolons, spirits of creative power, avatars of existence itself, which, as a result of Erra's madness, were beaten and torn apart, corrupted into the monstrous aberrants that plague the mist; there were, however, a select few among the Eidolons, chosen to serve Erra eternally as their knights, or otherwise face the same fate as their peers. Calling themselves the "Lurnstrikt, Knights of Erra", these fatefully bound entities had the gruesome task of cleaning up, refining and commanding the ravenous hordes of aberrants, ensuring their reign of mayhem would be sufficiently destructive when the time came, and that they did.
When the Cosmic Sundering came, the Lurnstrikt reluctantly let Erra's army loose upon Tellus, having to watch the death and destruction from afar as mist spilled and blighted over the beautiful realm, powerless to stop it. When the battle turned, however, and Talis' forces struck back with their great avatars of planar might, the Lurnstrikt saw their chance to help and took a great risk, betraying their master to tell Talis how they could defeat Erra, the same way they had destroyed the rest of the Eidolons. The maddening conflict preceded for days on end, until finally the mist receded, and the tyrant Erra was shattered.
The Lurnstrikt were free, and among them they decided to guard Praeteria and the knowledge of the gods, in hopes that history would never repeat itself, and nothing would ever hold as much power as Erra did. Now known as the "Holders of Hidden Fate", the Lurnstrikt guard the eldritch truth of the universe's creation, and the existence of both Talis and Erra, resorting to any means necessary to ensure it is not discovered. They see this as their duty, having committed the atrocities they did during the Cosmic Sundering.
