Shug
The god of Hólmur Fen, Shug manifests as a shaggy black creature standing on all fours, with the body of a dog and the face of an ape. Shug is one of those gods who thrives upon the fear he inspires rather than worship, and has a host of minor spirits of the swamp at his command. Travelers who venture into the Fen at dusk or during the night will see lights bobbing over the water in an attempt to lure the unwary into dangerous areas of th mire, where Shug can dispatch them at his leisure. According to legend, Shug once had Gwynn ap Lludd trapped in quicksand up to his neck, and extracted a promise from the king of the Ellyll to protect the fen from all comers, that it would always and perpetually remain Shug's domain and hunting ground.
