Nivi
An Unughuit folk hero, featured in many stories including "Nivi and the Mahaha." She is of the first generation born after the arrival of humans in the Great Ring, and her stories shape much of the folklore of the Unughuit to this day. Many features on the island of Umingmak are named for events in her legend cycle.
